A new change on the electricity invoicing system

Minister of Industry, Energy and Tourism, José Manuel Soria , has reported that the new pricing mechanism for electricity consumers can choose which companies will deliver for a year or to be billed in by price per hour.

The minister explained that this system will be fixed after getting applied the temporary one approved for the first quarter after the auction last December, as is set aside and considered necessary to introduce new billing mechanisms.

Council of Europe slams Spain for denying healthcare to illegal immigrants

 

The economic crisis has undermined social protection in Spain. The Council of Europe, which oversees respect for human rights in 47 countries on the continent, on Wednesday expressed concern over "regressive legislative developments concerning access to health care by foreigners illegally present in the country."

The conclusion is part of a wide-reaching report by the European Committee on Social Rights that examines whether national laws conform to the European Social Charter.

Crisis causes underground economy to flourish in Spain

 

The crisis has caused Spain’s black market economy to grow significantly over the past few years, according to a study released Wednesday by the union of the technical staff of the Finance Ministry (Gestha).

Gestha’s report calculates that the value of under-the-table business in 2012 amounted to 253 billion euros, equivalent to 24.6 percent of GDP – that’s 6.8 percentage points, or 60 billion euros, more than at the start of the crisis in 2008.
