We are going to know some of the changes that the government launched on the recent times that are going to be applied from now on Social Security payments. All of them mean a raise on the costs to be paid by the self-employed and company and is so useful to get them know to plan the incoming future of our business activity.

Results of campaign against irregular work




The Minister of Employment and Social Security , Fatima Bañez announced recently that the plan to fight gainst labor fraud has had an impact of EUR 7625.8 million in the two years leading up and achieved 161,381 irregular jobs emerge. This plan also has canceled 2,078 false companies ( 730 in 2012 and 1,348 in 2013) and a total of 78,056 false contracts, whose aim was to improperly obtain Social Security benefits or administrative authorizations to work.

Social Security turns the screws to take in one billion euros more

 
The Spanish Social Security system plans to take in an estimated billion euros more a year by including a series of non-wage remunerations provided by companies to employees such as contributions to pension plans and meal tickets that were previously exempt, or partly exempt, in the computation of contributions to the system.

Non Resident Tax

 
A person who is non fiscal resident in Spain and is getting any kind of income during the year has to be declaring and paying taxes for the incomes received. The most common case is a Non Resident person who owns a holiday house or property in Spain.
Regardless of whether or not the real-estate property is leased out, income from said property shall be subject to IRNR. However, the tax treatment varies depending on whether or not the property is leased.

Services sector grows at fastest pace since start of economic crisis

 
 
Activity and new orders in the key Spanish services sector, which accounts for over half of the country’s GDP, grew at the fastest pace in over six years in December, further fuelling expectations that the economy is on track for a significant recovery this year, according to a survey released Monday by consultant Markit.

Household savings rate falls further as income drops

 
The household savings rate in Spain in the third quarter of last year declined further despite lower consumer spending as high unemployment and downward pressure on wages reduced income.

December sees record fall in jobseekers

 

The number of people registered as out of work in Spain fell by 107,000 in December, according to figures that will be confirmed by Labor Minister Fátima Báñez on Friday, but that were released the day before by news agency Servimedia. The fall is the sharpest for the month of December since the ministry’s current statistical series began in 1997.

Declaration of Assets Abroad, until March 31st.


 
From January 1st until March 31st tax residents in Spain are obliged to report on the following groups of assets and rights abroad they had in 2013 (in case the assets of a group are exceeding 50000€):

1) Bank accounts, credit accounts or any other  financial product in any institutions located abroad.
2) Securities, rights, insurance and annuities deposited, managed or obtained abroad.
3) Real estate and real property rights of ownership located abroad.

Spanish Social Security System posts surplus of 943 million euros

 

According to the performance data reflected in the Accounting Information System of the Social Security System, the Spanish Social Security accounts posted a surplus of 943 million euros to 30 November 2013. This compares with a figure of 2.76 billion euros in the same period last year.

Adjusted tax revenue grows by 3.7% to November


The deficit data published today on the website of the Ministry of the Treasury and Public Administration Services show that the State deficit in national accounting terms stood at 40.61 billion euros in November 2013 - equivalent to 3.96% of GDP. This figure was mainly affected by the increased cost of servicing debt and increased transfers to the Social Security Authorities.
