Main changes on Social Security payments for a self-employed and/or a company

We are going to know some of the changes that the government launched on the recent times that are going to be applied from now on Social Security payments. All of them mean a raise on the costs to be paid by the self-employed and company and is so useful to get them know to plan the incoming future of our business activity.

The first change is the usual one at the beginning of every year as is the one about the update on the monthly self-employment quota for the social security.  There is an increase of 2% on the minimum payment base. The mínimum payment will increase from 256,72 up to 261,83 euros per month. The maximum payment base in case you have it choosen has also been increased.

A new and major change is affecting the self-employed who are administrators of companies, and self-employed having more than 10 workers contracted will have in 2014 a bigger increase of the social security quota, so the minimum payment from 2013 to 2014 for these self-employed rises from 256,72 per month up to 313,34 euros per month.

The FOGASA fund will not support anymore the dismissals of workers for economic reasons in companies with less than 25 workers.

Another new measure is that is not going to be possible to put into instalment payments the workers or professionals retentions tax model.

Finally there is a change on the social security payments for the workers
because those companies that were paying their workers for bonuses like food vouches, medical insurances, pensions plans or transport will start paying the proportional part on the social security workers monthly payments (until now these kind of salary was excluded).
