Making electronic invoices



In your business you have the ability to make invoices both in paper and electronic formats, but until now to produce electronic bills could become a complicated process because of the requirements that were required, including the owning of certain software approved by the Spanish Tax Office. However, the situation has changed as from 1 January 2013 these requirements have been relaxed.


The requirements to produce valid electronic invoices are:

Contain the minimum data required for all the invoices.
That the recipient of the invoice has given you the consent for sending him electronic invoices.

• The system used to create invoices has to ensure the authenticity of the origin and integrity of its contents.


The law has not changed, but there’s a new interpretation of this last point. Before was understood fulfilled only when used with certain forms of generating and sending electronic invoices, but now the law has been relaxed to be accepted by any other evidence.

Thus, you can generate your invoices in the format you want to forward it electronically and then email them or upload them in a web to be downloaded by the recipient.

Of course, since it requires the authorization of the customer to use this medium, it is recommended that before you begin making electronic invoices get a signed authorization by you client accepting the system that will be used to issue and send invoices.
