Public helps for self-employed workers (autonomos)

Recently, the Comunidad Valenciana Government has launched a pack of public benefits in order to help the unemployed people to set up their own business activity. On these difficult times these kind of helps sometimes can be a good push to be taking the decision of running a business activity by yourself.

The beneficiaries of these funds are registered unemployed people becoming self-employed from the 1st of June 2013 until the 20th September 2013. The members of civil corporation, companies partners, or joint ownership companies members , they are excluded for these helps.

The amounts to receive change depending on the kind of unemployed beneficiary:

• Up to 4000€  for ordinary unemployed.
• Up to 5000€  for younger than 30 years old.
• Up to 6000€  for women unemployed.
• Up to 7000€ for disable unemployed.
• Up to 9000€ for disable women unemployed.

They can even be a little bit higher in some special cases.

For being able to receive these helps the self-employed has to start the activity between the July 1st and the 20th September (which is the deadline to present the applications). The person has to be registered as unemplyed until the date when is starting the self-employed activity. An exclusion reason would be if that person was self-employed on the previous 6 months from the starting date. Some previous oublic helps may not be compatible with this helps. 

Finally it is required to have had expenses for at least 4000€ starting the activity, which have to be justified with the proper invoices and payment paperwork. These expenses would be those related to purchase of assets, marketing, goods for the activity, renting of the premises and a limited amount for advisers/solicitors fees.
